What We Don’t Service (And Why)

We love cars of all shapes and sizes, but part of offering great service is knowing where our capabilities end. We’re proud to specialize in the vehicles we know best, and just as proud to be honest about the ones we don’t.

Here’s what we don’t work on (and why):

  • Beaters, Clunkers, Piles, and Deathtraps:
If your car is missing body or interior panels, has unrepaired accident or hail damage, or significant corrosion, we aren’t the shop for you! If your car looks ready to audition for the next Mad Max film, or if your tires are old enough to vote, it may not be a good fit for our shop. Bottom line: we don’t expect our technicians to test drive or lift a car that we ourselves would not feel safe driving.

  • Expired Tabs or Missing Plates:
We need your vehicle to be legally able to operate on the road in order for us to work on it.

  • Bodywork:
Our team is good at what we do, which is mechanical repair and sweet custom interiors. What we don’t do is bodywork - and if you met our team, you’d understand why. We suggest Wrecktify in New Glarus for your paint and body needs. If your vehicle needs bodywork to be presentable, please have it performed prior to scheduling service.

  • Customer Supplied Components:
Our clients trust us to provide parts that meet our standards of performance and carry our exclusive 3 year, 40,000 mile warranty. For liability and warranty purposes, we do not install parts sourced by customers. You wouldn’t bring your own stent to the heart surgeon!

  • Heavy-Duty Diesel Trucks (3/4 Ton and Up):
We don’t service large diesel trucks like Duramax, Cummins, or Power Stroke-equipped pickups. Our hoists aren’t rated for them, and we don’t have the tooling or day-to-day experience these platforms demand.

  • Korean Cars (Hyundai, Kia, Genesis):
We don’t work on Korean vehicles. We do have the experience, specialized knowledge, or scan tool support to service them properly. And if we can’t do it right, we won’t do it at all.

  • Modern Fiat:
Please reach out to your local Stellantis dealership for your modern Fiat service needs.

  • Poorly Modified Vehicles:
We get it - the Alibaba-sourced suspension kit and headlights help your vehicle look cool. Poorly engineered or installed modifications can be detrimental to the vehicle’s health, as well as the health of our technicians. We are happy to perform tasteful modifications to your car by working with trusted partners like APR, Dinan, and Soul Performance - but we aren’t able to help you diagnose a drivability concern after you’ve installed an ebay turbocharger and an AI-Generated Tune. This goes for appearance modifications, too - we’re sorry, but the anime girl wrap is a bridge too far.

  • Random Engines Without Their Corresponding Vehicle:
It feels silly to have to state this, but you can’t take the engine out of your car and bring it to us. The most important part of any job, but especially internal engine work, is being able to verify the repair - and part of that is having your car here to reinstall the engine into and make sure it runs. If you’re looking to remove your own engine and take it somewhere for repairs, we’re not your shop.

  • Extreme Suspension Lifts:
We’re not set up to service vehicles with extreme lift kits. A mild lift or leveling kit? No problem. But if you're driving an old XJ on 40s, we may not be the best fit.

  • Large Sprinter Vans and RVs
Due to clearance and equipment limitations, we’re unable to service large Sprinter vans, Class B/C RVs, or other oversized recreational vehicles. If your vehicle barely fits in a parking garage, it probably won’t fit in our shop.

What We Will Do:
We’re happy to refer you to a trusted shop that can meet your needs. Whether you need a heavy-duty diesel specialist, a Hyundai expert, or an off-road shop with the right geometry tools, we’ll help you get pointed in the right direction.

Know What We’re Great At. Stick to It.
At Edelweiss Autowerks, we don’t try to be everything to everyone—and we think that’s a good thing. If it’s in our wheelhouse, we’ll give it everything we’ve got. If it’s not, we’ll point you somewhere that can.
